The first anticorruption Twinning Project entitled „Support in the strengthening of the operational capacities of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Moldova in the field of prevention and investigation of criminal acts of corruption" was launched today in Chisinau. This project was created for increasing the capacity of fight against corruption by providing assistance and support to the National Anticorruption Centre (NAC) as the main Beneficiary, Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office (APO), Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), General Police Inspectorate (GPI) and Customs Service (CS).

A Memorandum of understanding was signed between the Office for Prevention and Fight Against Money Laundering(FIU) of NAC and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States of America. The event took place in Chisinau within the precincts of NAC and the agreement was signed by the head of Moldovan FIU Vasile ŞARCO and Matthew S. MOON, chief of the Public Corruption and Civil Rights Office of the Criminal Investigation subdivision.
