A policeman from Leova district is supposed ofclaiming bribe from a driver in order to avoid contravention liability

A policeman from Leova Police Inspectorate was caught in blame while receiving a 1000 lei bribe from a driver not to document him for driving the car without a permit.

The case was documented by the GTD South officers of the NAC in common with anti-corruption prosecutors.

According to the criminal case, on July 14, the suspect hass been stopped an Opel Astra model with foreign registration numbers in traffic. At the request of the police officer to submit the documents, it was found that the driver did not have a driving license. In order not to make a lawsuit, the policeman would have claimed 1000 lei.

As a result of the driver's complaint, the CNA commenced a criminal investigation into the fact of passive corruption. On July 17, the denouncer sent the money under the control of South DGT and prosecutors, and the 27-year-old cop was detained for 72 hours.
If found guilty, the lawyer is liable to up to 10 years imprisonment with the imposition of a fine and deprivation of the right to hold public office.
