A policeman from Criuleni and his accomplice are being investigated for passive corruption by the NAC and AP
06.02.2023 2536 ViewsA petty officer of the Criuleni Police Inspectorate and one of his accomplices were documented by the NAC and the anti-corruption prosecutors in a case of passive corruption. The defendants allegedly demanded 250 euros from a driver to release his car, which was parked at the specialized parking lot.
Based on the whistleblowing, the NAC initiated a criminal case for passive corruption, and on Friday the money was transferred to the accused. The amount of 250 euros was handed over voluntarily, during the search, both individuals being escorted for hearings to the NAC and AP headquarters.
After they were charged, they were released by the prosecutor's order on the grounds of the lack of grounds to apply the preventive measure depriving them of liberty, at the same time being obliged not to leave the country.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
We remind, that every person who has been charged shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
