A man from Balti city is investigated for influence peddling, being suspected of having received 600 euros from a citizen under the pretext that he could help him obtain a driving license.
According to the denouncer, the man claimed that he would influence the members of the Examination Board within the Public Service Agency, and that he could determine them to favor him in the theoretical and practical tests.
On this case, the prosecution had been initiated under Art. 326 of Criminal Code - influence peddling. Today, following the criminal proceedings, the person was escorted to the NAC for hearings.
Thus, at the hearings, he fully acknowledged his guilt and being investigated in a state of freedom.
At the same time, NAC officers carried out searches at the suspect's domicile where they picked up medical documents and records on behalf of several people who which intended to apply to the Driving School studies.
We remind that, the person if found guilty, for committing influence peddling, risks up to 7 years of detention. Until the final and irrevocable judgement is delivered, any person shall be presumed innocent.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is carrying out the criminal proceedings.
