A man from Cahul city was detained by the officers of the General Territorial Drectorate South of the NAC and anticorruption prosecutors, being suspected of illegally alienating a real estate situated in the Cahul city. He would have acted in complicity with unknown people and as a result he got into possession of an apartment worth 20,000 euros.
According to the scheme, the suspect would have falsified a court decision granting a third party the right to ownership of the immovable property after the death of the rightsholder. The act was fraudulently issued and the legal successors of the deceased were deposed of property.
Subsequently, the apartment was sold to an interposed person, causing material damage to each legal successor in a total amount of 20,000 Euro, equivalent to 93,600 lei.
Following the accumulation of probative evidence material, the man was detained for 72 hours, and if found guilty, he would take up to 10 years in prison. At present, investigations are carried out to identify all the persons involved.
We would like to mention that, any person shall be presumed innocent until the final and irrevocable judgement is delivered.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office leads the prosecution.
