A family doctor from Balti entered in the sight of the NAC officers and the anticorruption prosecutors after he was denounced for systematically demanding money from patients for issuing medical certificates. This has been documented, during the period of the several months, which several patients paid for the so-called false diagnoses in order to be able to go on paid medical leave.
According to the materials of the case, the doctor from Balti would have received for each certificate, systematically, amounts between 200 and 500 lei, and the CNA officers have already documented over 10 episodes. More people will be heard in this file to determine all the circumstances.
A criminal prosecution for passive corruption was initiated on behalf of the doctor, which was held in the NAC custody for 72 hours.
