Preventing and discouraging the behavior that generate corruption in the public procurement system, awarding public procurement contracts to interested companies, ensuring an operational exchange of data and information, training employees in the field of integrity and anti-corruption were among the main topics, discussed today, at the meeting between the NAC, Ruslan Flocea and NASC Deputy Director Irina Gutnic.
According to Ruslan Flocea, public procurement is among the most vulnerable and subject to corruption risk, and representatives involved in the procurement process can use their status and function to award contracts to companies in which they have financial or managerial interest. The intervention of the NAC on this segment is an indispensable one, so that this negative phenomenon that generates the damage of the state will be completely stopped.
For his part, Irina Gutnic, head of the National Agency for Solving Complaints, mentioned that she relies on the support of the National Anticorruption Center in investigating the schemes for arranging and fraudulating public tenders, which have grown in recent times, especially the tenders aimed at food procurement. in kindergartens and schools, being registered more and more complaints and notifications containing violations committed by the economic agents.
Both leaders have established that, in the near future, they will sign a collaboration agreement that will regulate an effective interaction between both authorities in order to prevent and combat corruption in the field of public procurement.
