A lawyer from the capital got into the NAC detention center, after claiming 14 000 euro, from his client to settle the case in the court. According to the whistleblower, he has promised to help to get rid of the criminal liability in a case in which she has been investigated for fraud in very large proportions.
Specifically, the lawyer alleged that he has influence on some magistrates of the Hancesti Court, in which the woman and her accomplice were involved, as well as some public figures from the Prosecutor's Office and Police Inspectorate of Ialoveni, the institutions that managed the case. For the services of transferring, the lawyer has claimed 14 000 euro, money that he received in tranches - 5000 euro, 4000 euro and 5000 euro.
Following the searches, carried out today by the prosecutors and the NAC officers at home and in the vehicle of the lawyer, he was detained and placed in the NAC detention center for 72 hours. He is criminally prosecuted for influence peddling and risks up to 6 years of detention.
He is the first lawyer detained by the NAC in 2020. In 2019, 18 lawyers were investigated for corruption acts by the NAC.
