The curriculum „Anticorruption and Integrity" recommended by the National Anticorruption Center, will be included in the program of training courses in Chisinau. The decision was taken as the result of a working meeting, organized by the NAC, with the deputy mayor of Chisinau Angela CUTASEVICI and the president of the General Association of Teachers, Mariana MARIN.
The purpose of the discussion was to establish the priorities in the field of training didactic staff on the compliance and promotion of integrity standards in education. The participants discussed about the necessity to introduce the Curriculum „Anticorruption and Integrity" in the program of the continuous traning courses, the trainings being organized primarily for the managers of the educational institutions in Chisinau municipality to make them responsible for implementing integrity policies, promoting organizational culture and the integrity spirit and to ensure a strict managerial control of the institutional integrity.
During the meeting, other issues in the field of education were discussed, such as informal payments and the activity of parental associations. The officers of the Directorate of Anticorruption Education of the NAC presented the recent data about complaints from the National Anticorruption Line, since the creation of the crisis, in September 2019. Until the present, 36 calls have been received from the citizens reporting issues connected to informal payments and other irregularities in schools and kindergartens. They were examined by the NAC, in most of the cases disciplinary deviations were identified, and further passed for decision making to the responsible authorities in the field of education.
We note that the meeting between the NAC and the officials from the Chisinau City Hall took place as the result of the instructions organized by the Center for the local public administration in Chisinau municipality, but also in the context of collaboration within the framework of the working group establish to coordinate the actions of preventing and combating the phenomenon of corruption within the municipal subdivisions.
