A man without a mask and a dog without a muzzle put two policemen in the NAC detention center after reporting to the National Anticorruption Line26.03.2021 21 Views
Two spouses called to the National Anticorruption Line of the NAC, denouncing the alleged acts of abuse of two police officers from the Ciocana Police Inspectorate. They reported that they were ordered to pay a bribe of 1000 lei in order not to be fined.
According to the whistleblowers, they were stopped in the street, in the Ciocana sector, by two sector police officers, while walking their dog. As the dog did not wear a muzzle and the owner did not have a protective mask, the police warned him that they violated the law and that they had to pay a cumulative fine of over 6,000 lei. However, in order to impose a minimum fine on them, the police officers would have asked them for 1000 lei.
Thus, it follows from the testimony provided that one of the spouses was sent home to fetch money, but he called the Anticorruption Line to denounce the police officers. At the end of the day, the two law enforcement officers got in the NAC detention center, being investigated for passive corruption. If found guilty, they risk losing their jobs, a criminal fine and imprisonment.
We remind that any person is presumed to be innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision is pronounced.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
Note: the fine for violating anti-epidemiological measures is up to 5,000 lei, and walking the pet without a leash and muzzle in public places is fined up to 1,500 lei.
