The National Anticorruption Center, General Police Inspectorate and anticorruption volunteers have launched information campaign for the National Inspectorate of the Public Security (NIPS) employees, as well as for drivers, about the risks of corruption and the necessity to report them. The event began at Straseni with a training for the employees of the NIPS.
Within the training session, the head of the Anticorruption Education Directorate of the NAC, Ion Pruteanu, spoke to the audience about ensuring integrity in the public system and about zero tolerance for corruption acts. Also, he encouraged the NIPS employees to behave in a dignified and honest way in relation to traffic participants and to counteract any attempts of bribery. As the same time, he informed the patrol agents that not only bribery is an element of corruption, but also not denouncing conflicts of interest, undue influence, as well as not declaring received gifts.
After the training, the NAC officers together with anticorruption volunteers and GPI employees stopped the drivers to urge behave correctly in the traffic and not to bribe patrol agents. The drivers received leaflets with the information about the ways of whistleblowing acts of corruption to the National Anticorruption Line 0 800 55555.
To be noted that the actions are carried out within the anticorruption campaign “Blow the Whistle! Your Attitude Matters!”, that is aimed at informing citizens, but also police employees about the importance of reporting acts of corruption, corruption manifestations and undue influence, run by the National Anticorruption Center and the General Police Inspectorate.
