The National Anticorruption Center has announced the launch of the anticorruption week and the organization of several events on the anticorruption prevention and education component. The events are occasioned by the marking, on December 9, of the International Anti-Corruption Day. The purpose of the activities carried out by the NAC is to raise the degree of awareness and responsibility in society and among young people regarding the risks and impact generated by the phenomenon of corruption.
This year's anti-corruption week begins today with the visit to the NAC of a group of students from the Law Faculty of the Moldova State University (USM), two other information visits for students from the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) and the Free International University from Moldova (ULIM) will take place on Wednesday. Thus, the NAC officers will hold information sessions for young students and organize a tour of the institution, with the presentation of the daily activities undertaken by the Center's employees.
On Tuesday, December 5, the Gala of Anticorruption Volunteers will take place, during which the most active volunteers, involved in actions promoting integrity messages, will be awarded. The development partners of the NAC, who supported the institution's efforts to educate the young generation in the spirit of intolerance towards corruption, are invited to the event. On December 6, the final Championship of the Pro Integrity Quiz will take place, organized for students of medical colleges, and on Thursday for students from several universities in the country. The Pro Integrity Quiz was created by the officers of the Anticorruption Education Department of the NAC to test young people's knowledge about the phenomenon of corruption and the methods of preventing and combating it.
On Friday, December 8, the representatives of the institutions that have anti-corruption hotlines and receive messages from citizens will meet at the NAC. During the meeting, the report on the functioning of the anti-corruption lines will be presented and recommendations will be made for the efficient management and reporting of received calls.
Through these actions, the NAC aims to draw the attention of the entire society that the fight against corruption requires a joint effort, and its success depends on each of us. Every year, the Republic of Moldova celebrates the International Anti-Corruption Day through events aimed at bringing to society's attention the progress, but also the challenges of the public authorities in combating and preventing corruption.
