A man from the north of the country detained by NAC in a case of influence peddling. He claimed 60 000 lei to influence a court decision

A man from Bălți is under criminal investigation for influence peddling in a case opened by the NAC on allegations of bribery to influence a court decision. In fact, the suspect would have claimed that, through his lawyer, he could convince people with public dignity to adopt a favourable court decision for three defendants, investigated for hooliganism.

The suspect would have claimed 60 000 lei to induce persons with public dignity in the management of the case initiated regarding 3 persons to adopt a non-custodial decision. According to the administered evidence, 10 000 lei were to go to the lawyer, who had the role of mediator, and 50 000 to the persons with public dignity.

Thus, under the procedural leadership of the Balti Municipal Prosecutor's Office, the person was detained for 72 hours and placed in the NAC Detention Centre.
