NAC and prosecutors are carrying out searches in several localities in Nisporeni and Straseni in two criminal cases on facts of electoral corruption

Six representatives of a political party are investigated by the NAC in a case of electoral corruption. They are suspected of having offered financial means to voters to determine them to vote in a certain way within elections of 20 October.

According to the investigated facts, the money would be allegedly transmitted during the organized meetings with the citizens in exchange for exercising their electoral rights in favour of a party candidate, registered in the electoral course at the presidential elections, as well as against Republican Constitutional Referendum.

Currently, the NAC officers are carrying out actions to identify the origin of the funds used to commit the crime and their possible connection of the involved persons with the members of criminal organized groups that act in the interest of certain political formations.

As a result of criminal investigation actions, carried out by the NAC under the processual leadership of Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor’s Office, the persons involved are to be escorted to the NAC to be questioned as suspects.
