Collaboration Agreement in the field of anticorruption, signed by the NAC and the Public Property Agency

Several joint actions will be undertaken by the NAC and the Public Property Agency to strengthen integrity in the field of administration and deetatization of the public property. The actions are foreseen in a new Collaboration Agreement, signed today between the institutions and constitute a component part of the efforts of the state to consolidate the public integrity, prevent and combat acts of corruption, acts related to corruption and corrupt facts.

According to the Agreement, the main objectives of those two authorities are: development of collaboration relations in the areas of competence; institutional strengthening of the parties, through developing of the capacities and the exchange of experience; cultivating and consolidating the institutional integrity climate, as well as ensuring the implementation of the anticorruption policies in the sector of administration and deetatization of the public property.

"Through this agreement, the National Anticorruption Center aims at increasing the degree of trust of the citizens in the state institutions and in good intentions of the authorities to prevent and fight the phenomenon of institutionalized corruption, said the NAC Director, Ruslan Flocea. At present, the NAC has a wide range of tools in the field of preventing and combating corruption and is ready to help the authorities to implement the integrity standards, to assess the risks of corruption and to promote intolerance towards bribing".

In addition to the exchange of information between the two authorities, the NAC will organize several anticorruption training activities to the civil servants within the Agency. They will be informed about the integrity standards, mechanisms and tools of preventing (including about the National Anticorruption Line and specialized anticorruption lines), the methods of denouncing corruption, etc. As well, the actions will be carried out of identifying, assessment and withdrawing the risks of corruption in the field of administration and deetatization of public property, within the state-owned enterprises, in which the Agency exercises the right of a founder and within the commercial societies where is a shares holder (social parties).

In this process of collaboration, the parties will respect good faith, human rights, institutional freedom and public interest. The present Agreement entered into force at the date of signature - March 5, 2020.
