A young man was detained by the NAC officers and anticorruption prosecutors, after receiving a bribe of 1000 euros. He would have asked money from the minibus driver, to determine the inspectors from the National Agency for Motor Transport to release the registration plate and the registration certificate, withdrawn previously following the check.

According to the materials of the case, the suspect allegedly claimed that he has influence on the inspectors from the National Agency for Motor Transport and that he could determine them to issue the registration plate and registration certificate of the mean of transport, used by the whistleblower on the illicit transport of passengers and goods.

A criminal investigation was initiated in this case pursuant art.326 – influence peddling, within which the amount of 1000 euros was transferred, under the NAC control.

The suspect was detained this morning for 72 hours, if found guilty, he risks a fine from 1000 to 3000 conventional units or imprisonment from 2 to 6 years.

We remind that every person is presumed to be innocent until the final and irrevocable decision of the court is pronounced.
