The officers have formed a joint team, sharing information materials on the phenomenon of corruption and its methods of combating it at several border points. The action took place under the auspices of the NAC and UNDP Moldova and brought together representatives of the Border Police, the Customs Service and the Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

All those who crossed the border points of Palanca, Giurgiulesti, Sculeni and Leuseni today were greeted by the officers of the four institutions who offered them leaflets, calendars, brochures, which contained information about the steps to be taken by a person who faced an act of corruption. Also, the travelers found in the distributed materials the telephone numbers of all the anticorruption lines of the entities, but also messages by which they are urged to denounce the corruption. The officers told their interlocutors about their rights and obligations as citizens, but also about the responsibility for committing acts of corruption.

Thus, in a common leaflet, each institution came up with a message in which it wanted to persuade people to report to them if an employee of the authority committed an act of corruption. The message of the Customs Service states, “the phenomenon of corruption affects us because it is fueled, because it is not denounced and accepted. If an official from the CS is involved in an act of corruption, we urge you to inform us at 0 22 788888. Representatives of the IPAS and the Border Police have also requested this. "Report an attempt or an act of corruption, committed by an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" at the telephone numbers 1520 (IPAS) or 0 22 259 675 (BP), it is said in the message of the Ministry of Interior, who added that "To be honest means to be free!"

We remind you that the national anticorruption line of the NAC works at the telephone number 0 800 55555 non-stop, the call is free . A duty officer will take the call and record it to be forwarded to the operative workers. This year, more than 2,500 calls were received through the national anticorruption line.

The event takes place during Anticorruption Week under the slogan "United Against Corruption". It is supported by the UNDP Moldova with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
