A student of the State University of Physical Education and Sports filed a complaint with the NAC against the dean and head of the department of the Faculty of Kinetotherapy, after the employees of the institution allegedly demanded a bribe of 1000 euros from him. The young man reported that the two had asked him for the money to help him pass the arrear exams, the graduate thesis and to stop the expulsion process. 

According to the accumulated materials, the student would have been enrolled in 2018, following his studies for two years. However, from 2020, he did not show up for classes, and would be expelled. In a discussion with the dean and the head of the department, the student would have received assurances that the problem could be solved for a sum of 1000 euros. According to the whistleblower, the dean and head of the department said that they would influence the other lecturers and that they could convince to give him passing grades in the exams from the 3rd and 4th years of study, as well as in the state exams.

Based on the complaint, the NAC and the anti-corruption prosecutors launched a criminal investigation for influence peddling. Thus, the transfer of 800 euros of the claimed amount was authorized, under control. Recently, the two employees of the university were detained for 72 hours. Criminal proceedings are currently under way. 

The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
