A citizen of Ukraine tried to bribe a border policeman with 500 dollars to get a minor out of the country without identity documents, but she was denounced

The officers of the General Territorial Directorate North of the NAC, together with the North office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office and the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (GIBP), ended an attempt to illegally remove a minor without identity documents from the country, by attempting to bribe a border policeman. The case was reported to the NAC, and based on the information from the GIBP, a criminal case for active corruption was initiated.

According to the materials of the case, a citizen of Ukraine allegedly offered the employee of the Border Police 500 dollars, which she was going to send to him through the child's companion. In exchange for this amount, the border policeman would have been asked to ensure the minor's unimpeded passage through the Criva-Mămăliga state border crossing point.

On December 29, following the criminal investigation and special investigative measures, under the control of the employees of the  GTD North of the NAC, of the anti-corruption prosecutors and the representatives of the North Regional Directorate of the GIBP, it was possible to document the transfer of the money and the minor, who was going to cross illegally state border. As a result, the citizen of Ukraine was detained for 72 hours.

The North Office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
