542 Views The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office sent to the court the last figures of the criminal case with the generic "Rezina disability certificates", including the organizer accused of 19 episodes, a doctor and two applicants accused of committing influence peddling, a crime provided by art. 326 paragraph (1), art. 326 paragraph (2) letter b) and art. 326 paragraph (2) letter b), d) from the Criminal Code.
On February 14, 2020, the National Anticorruption Center started the criminal investigation based on a citizen's complaint regarding the illegal actions, committed by the employees of the Rezina Territorial Structure for Determining Disability and Work Capacity within the National Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity, manifested by demanding monetary means in the amount of 4000 - 6000 lei, claiming that they have influence on public persons, in view of their determination to issue a decision regarding the granting of the degree of disability.
As part of the criminal investigation and special investigative measures, it was established that the social relations specialist of the Rezina Territorial Structure for Determining Disability and Work Capacity, acting together according to the prior agreement with the nurse, claiming that they have influence on public persons members of The service for determining the degree of disability of the National Council for the Determination of Disability and Work Capacity, to determine them to grant the requested degree of disability, they claimed from several people interested in granting the degree of disability, monetary means that they were not given respectively, which varied between 4000 - 18 500 lei, in the absence of compliance with the criteria provided by the law regarding the determination of disability.
20 episodes of claiming and accepting money have been documented.
The accused admit their guilt, and the criminal case was sent to the court, to be examined by the Orhei Court, Rezina headquarters.
The maximum penalty established for the crimes provided for in art. 326 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code is a fine from 150,000 to 200,000 lei or imprisonment from 2 to 6 years.
At the same time, we inform the public that the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office previously sent other criminal cases to the court regarding other persons documented in the same file, who requested the examination in a simplified procedure for the recognition of guilt, having obtained convictions regarding 28 defendants including four doctors, nurses and members of the medical teams, with the confiscation of illegally obtained funds.
To be mentioned that, in this criminal case, the Ministry of Health was notified regarding the cancellation of the documents for obtaining the degrees of disability obtained illegally.
