Launch of the ”Trademark of the Year 2022” contest

Private companies are invited to take part in the Business Integrity Award that will be given by the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) within the context ”Trademark of the Year”, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the State Agency for Intellectual Property.

The "Trademark of the Year" contest aims to contribute to the development of the economy of the Republic of Moldova by increasing the competitiveness and increasing the capacities of domestic enterprises in the creation and promotion of trademarks on the domestic and foreign markets, their qualitative assessment, including based on consumer opinion.

The National Anticorruption Center for the fourth consecutive year awards private companies that implement integrity standards in the private sector.

The nomination "Implementation of Integrity Standards in the Private Sector" aims to encourage private companies that implement integrity standards, identify and manage corruption risks in their activity and implement effective anti-corruption procedures to continue a similar approach in business.

The Business Integrity Award comes to support the honest businesses, strengthen integrity in the private sector and contribute to the creation of competitive and fair business environment, based on integrity standards, transparency and professionalism in collaboration with the public sector.

Commercial societies, representative of the large, medium and small businesses, as well as state or municipal enterprises, joint-stock companies in which the state holds the majority stake can take part in the contest and that have at least one application or registered trademark.

Candidates will present to the contest organization board:

·        Application (www.chamber.md);

·        Business Registration certificate (copy);

·        The self-assessment report on anti-corruption initiative (www.chamber.md) with supporting materials – policy documents approved and implemented (in the field of ethics, compliance, anti-corruption, anti-bribe etc.), the Code of Ethics/Conduct, procedures for reporting irregularities at the work place and whistleblower protection, procedures to solve conflicts of interest, procedures to declare gifts, internal control procedures etc.

The applications can be submitted starting with February 16, 2023 to the address of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The deadline for the participation applications is March 31, 2023. Details can be accessed on the official website of the institution www.chamber.md.
