The NAC officers, together with the anti-corruption prosecutors (AP) and the employees of the National Investigation Inspectorate (NII), continued, today, the actions within the criminal case, started on acts of corruption of voters by the representatives of a political formation to determine them to vote for an electoral competitor in the elections from ATU Gagauzia.

Based on the materials presented by the NII employees, 11 searches were authorized at the homes and cars of eight people, which took place today in the municipality of Chisinau, in Vulcănești, Cimișlia and Comrat. As part of the criminal investigation, documents and goods of interest to the criminal case were found and seized: mobile phones, draft documents, lists with contact data of some people, memory sticks, sums of money. All persons are investigated at large.

We remind that, according to the accumulated materials, it was established that, between March and the present, the electoral competitor referred to in this case, as well as his initiative group, would have knowingly accepted financial means from an organized criminal group, which would have been and are used for the illicit remuneration of activists involved in the election campaign of the bashkan of the ATU Gagauzia, as well as for determining people to vote for the party's candidate. From the evidence administered, it was established that for the determination of a number of 30 voters to vote for the candidacy of the SOR Party, each activist was remunerated with 15,000 lei.

The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.

The person accused of committing a crime is presumed innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven by a court decision of final conviction.
