A lawyer was detained by NAC officers in collaboration with the anti-corruption prosecutors. The woman is suspected of passive corruption and was retained in the courthouse of Buiucani.

The 42 years old lawyer is suspected of being extorted and received Euros 2,000 from a citizen to adopt a favorable decision on a criminal case started on the denouncer and led by the magistrate of the Court of Buiucani.

Following body search conducted by prosecutors and NAC officers on the suspect, money was not found. The euro 2000 was handed over voluntarily by a legal officer, who was given the money by a secretary of Court of Buiucani

Lawyer was retained for a period of 72 hours. Thus, a criminal case was started under art. 324 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Cod that provides 15 years of imprisonment.

Criminal case is being investigated with by prosecutors and NAC officers.
