The officers of the National Anticorruption Center and the Security and Intelligence Service, together with the prosecutors of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, today carried out 25 searches in the Northern region of the country and in the municipality of Chisinau on representatives of some Political Parties, throughout today, in a criminal case regarding its illegal financing.

According to the evidence administered on the cases, it was found that several representatives of the parties allegedly were involved in the process of receiving, transporting and distributing illicit funds intended for unofficial payments.

As a result of the searches, cash in the amount of 189,200 lei, 25,415 euros, 2,430 dollars, 4,500 Swiss francs, mobile phones, and draft documents were seized. One person was detained and placed in the NAC Detention Center for 72 hours.

We note, that any person who has been charged shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law.
