The officers of the General Territorial Directorate South of the NAC and anti-corruption prosecutors of the Southern Office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office conducted searches, this morning, at the managers of a driving school in Cimișlia. They are investigated in the case of the corruption scheme in issuing driving licenses in Hîncești.

According to the case materials, two managers of the driving school in the city of Cimișlia, claiming that they would have influence on the employees of the Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Office (SÎTCCA) in Hîncești and that they could induce them to favor the candidates to take the theoretical and practical tests, allegedly claimed and received between 350 and 1000 euros for a document.

At the same time, during the searches carried out at the headquarters of the driving school, the home and the car of the suspects, cash, mobile phones and draft documents were seized. One person was detained and placed in the NAC Detention Center for 72 hours, and another is being investigated at large.

We remind, that on September 19, 2023, the officers of the General Territorial Directorate South of the NAC and anti-corruption prosecutors carried out criminal prosecution actions in the corruption case when issuing driving licenses. An employee of the Public Services Agency (PSA), from the Hîncești Office, and two intermediaries were detained for implementing a system of illicit collection of financial means from candidates for obtaining a driver's license.

The Southern Office of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
