Lawyer retained for traffic of influence

A defense lawyer was arrested by NAC officers on the suspicion of traffic of influence. The man was caught red-handed when he received 3,000 Euro from another man.
According tothe informer, the lawyer would have required this amount with the pretext that he can influence criminal investigation officers of the Capital Center District Police Inspectorate, and the prosecutors investigating a criminal case for fraud. The defender would have ensured his client that he can determine the two to close the case.
In this case, a criminal case was opened for trafficking of influence, according to art. 326 from the Criminal Code. If found guilty, the suspect risks up to seven years of imprisonment. Currently he is held in custody at the NAC. From the beginning of this year, NAC has documented six cases of corruption involving lawyers.
