Several searches were authorized as part of a criminal case, instrumented by the NAC, aimed at the abuse of service committed by public persons within the Municipal Enterprise Electric Transport Company (ÎM "RTEC"). The NAC officers descended this morning on the service offices of the concerned officials and their homes, as well as on the representatives of some companies benefiting from the allegedly rigged tenders.

According to the criminal investigation materials, public persons from the Municipal Enterprise Electric Transport Company allegedly defrauded several public tenders, organized by the enterprise, in exchange for goods or a certain percentage of the awarded contracts, thus causing considerable damage to the ÎM "RTEC". Thus, it was established that public persons within RTEC, through prior agreement with economic agents designated as winners of procurement contracts, would have committed several abuses in the process of executing the contracted works.  

At the moment, as part of the criminal investigation, the actions of the deputy director and the chief accountant of ÎM "RTEC" are being investigated, and today they will be informed of their status as suspects.

The actions are carried out under the direction of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecution Office. We note that any person is presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision is rendered.
