A woman from Drochia is criminally investigated by the NAC officers in a case of influence peddling. She is suspected of claiming a bribe to help a man get easier a driving license.

According to the investigation data, the suspect allegedly demanded 1800 euros, under the pretext that she could determine the officials from the Registration of Transport and Qualification of Drivers Office in Soroca, responsible for examining candidates for theoretical and practical tests for obtaining the driving license, to promote successful passing of the driving exam and obtaining a driving license of category B.

The case was reported to the NAC, the criminal case was initiated for influence peddling on the grounds of whistleblowing. As a result, the anti-corruption officers carried out searches at the suspect’s home, following which a mobile telephone was seized with conclusive evidence for criminal investigation. The woman is being investigated in a state of freedom.

Every person who has been charged shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty according to the law. The Prosecutor’s Office of Balti Municipality ensures the management of the criminal investigation actions.
