The National Anti-Corruption Centre (NAC) handed over the chairmanship of the Balkan Asset Management Interagency Network (BAMIN) to North Macedonia. The festive event took place in Skopje, Macedonia and brought together representatives of several international organizations specialized in the management of illicit assets.

In 2023, at the end of May, NAC took over the BAMIN presidency by rotation. The assumption of the BAMIN presidency by the Republic of Moldova was a première, but it was also the first time that a country with observer-member status from outside the Balkans became president of the network.

In September 2023, under the auspices of NAC, the Annual General Meeting of the Balkan Asset Management Interagency Network was held, which met for the first time under the Moldovan Presidency to discuss the implementation of effective cross-border management of criminal assets.

BAMIN is an informal network of practitioners working operationally with asset management offices and agencies or within departments mandated to deal with the management and disposal/storage of criminal assets within their jurisdiction. The network aims to increase the efficiency of the management and sale of criminal assets. The main objective of BAMIN members is to improve cross-border cooperation and speed up the exchange of information between agencies.
