The NAC officers and prosecutors conducted searches at the Cantemir Health Centre as part of an influence peddling case, in which the actions of an employee of the institution are investigated, manifested by the systematic claim of illicit financial means for the completion of medical certificates without the physical presence of the applicants.

According to the accumulated evidence, the secretary of the hospital's Advisory Commission allegedly claimed that he has influence over some members of the medical commission, who issue certificates to candidates for obtaining driving licenses, and that he can make them complete the necessary documents without the physical presence of the people.

Thus, during the documentation period, several episodes of claiming and receiving illicit financial means by the suspect were found, the amounts received for a medical certificate being up to 1000 lei.

The NAC officers searched the suspect's home and office, where money and other evidence relevant to the case were seized. Currently, the medical worker is being investigated in a state of freedom, and the actions took place under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Cahul Municipal Prosecution Office in a criminal case initiated on the basis of art. 326 of the criminal code – influence peddling.

We remind, every person shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty by a final court decision.
