Several young people from universities in the Republic of Moldova and Romania, who are part of the European Association of Law Students "ELSA", made a study visit to the National Anti-corruption Centre to learn about the role and duties of the NAC in preventing and fighting corruption, but also to find out if they can be part of the institution's team.

The director of the NAC, Alexandr Pînzari, and the head of the General Directorate on Corruption Prevention (GDCP), Lidia Chireoglo, made a presentation of the Centre's powers and competences, spoke about the challenge faced by the officers in their daily work, as well as about the results obtained by the institution in the field to fight big and systemic corruption.

Given the fact that several young people who come to the NAC in a study visit across the Prut, the director of the Centre also spoke to them about the valuable cooperation that the Centre has on certain resonance cases with the Romanian DNA and DIICOT. "We also have good results in the field of recovering criminal assets. The seizures applied to some assets, identified including on the territory of Romania, are due to good inter-institutional cooperation with colleagues across the Prut".

In her address, Lidia Chireoglo informed the visitors about the projects carried out by the NAC for young people. The head of the GDCP told them about the role of anti-corruption volunteers in promoting pro-integrity messages and about the opportunities the Centre offers for young people involved in the joint activities of the institution.

The students took a tour of the institution, during which they visited the Detention Centre, as well as the Guard Unit of the Centre, where citizens' calls to the National Anti-corruption Hotline 080055555 are received. The study visit was organized at the request of the European Law Students Association (ELSA), which is the largest international organization of law students and young lawyers. It has more than 32,000 members from 41 countries in Europe.
