NAC and the Center for Human Rights will collaborate in preventing and combating corruption

The National Anticorruption Centre and the Center for Human Rights in Moldova (CfHRM) will collaborate in preventing and combating corruption.

A cooperation agreement in this regard was signed between the two institutions, which stands to mention the importance of fighting corruption which seriously affects the rule of law, human rights and fundamental freedoms, economic and social development of the country and moral foundations of society.

According to the Agreement, the parties agreed to work together to encourage integrity conduct among civil servants, persons with public positions and other persons providing public services; budgetary, administrative body and research staff of educational institutions, doctors and nurses.

NAC and the CfHRM will work together to better inform the public about the seriousness of corruption, undermining the capacity of the state to ensure respect for fundamental human rights, encouraging citizens not to bribe and not to tolerate corruption and protectionism.

Cooperation Agreement provides for joint organization of various actions of public awareness (conferences, trainings, workshops, contests, publication of information materials) on the importance of eradicating corruption in Moldova. Parties shall exchange information on corruption, its impact on the efficiency of the state affairs, compliance of state obligations to enforce rights and fundamental freedoms, as a result of the impoverishment of the population, reduce the quality of life, level social protection, the effects of high level corruption.

NAC will support the CfHRM’s activities to promote anti-corruption culture and integrity in educational institutions, academia, health protection and in conducting anti-corruption training and awareness campaigns conducted by the Center. NAC will provide the CfHRM relevant information that relates to the situation on indicators of corruption, the extent in different social fields, upon request.
