A doctor, member of the Territorial Council of Edineţ was documented and retained in the act for passive corruption by NAC officers and prosecutors.
In fact, the woman would have extorted MDL 3,000 to establish a degree of disability II for informer’s husband.
She was detained for 72 hours and recognized as a suspect.
If found guilty, according to art. 324 paragraph (2) letter c) Criminal Code, doctor faces from 5 to 10 years in prison with a fine of 6,000 to 8,000 conventional units and deprivation of the right to hold certain public functions or exercise certain activities for a period of 7 to 10 years.
Criminal prosecution is conducted bythe Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.
