An employee of the Police Inspectorate from Floresti district was detained by the NAC officers of the General Territorial Directorate "North" and the anticorruption prosecutors, suspected of complicity in the influence peddling case, after claiming and receiveing, together with other colleagues, 2,500 € to cover up a criminal case.
We would like to remind that, two days ago, two police officers, one employee of PI Râşcani and another employee of PI Floreşti, were detained by the NAC officers and anticorruption prosecutors for influence peddling.
According to the denouncer, the police officers claimed that they could influence the case prosecutor to replace the punishment in the form of a preventive arrest with a milder one, applied to a man suspected of illegal drug trafficking for the purposes of alienation.
Following the criminal investigation, all three were detained for 72 hours. If they are found guilty of committing influence peddling, policemen risk of up to six years of detention or a fine of up to 10,000 conventional units.
