22.04.2024 77 ViewsThe National Anti-corruption Centre reports several activities, carried out last week on the anti-corruption component, as well as other actions from the spectrum of institutional attributions. Following the complaints made, 2 cases on influence traffic were opened. In the first case, a resident of the municipality of Chisinau was detained red-handed, he allegedly promised a person to expedite the import of cars from the European Union in exchange for 1000 euros and was detained for 72 hours. In the second case, a woman from Drochia allegedly claimed 1,800 euros to help a man obtain a driver's license more easily.
We mention that at the moment, 6 people, arrested in the cases initiated by the NAC, are placed in prisons. During the reference period, criminal prosecution officers initiated 6 criminal cases and proposed 4 criminal cases for prosecution.
The Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) of the NAC seized assets worth about 4.8 million lei, last week, based on the delegations of the General Directorate on Criminal Investigation of the NAC. Among them are 10 bank accounts, a dwelling, a means of transport, a land for construction, seized in a case of money laundering. More than 3 million lei were confirmed by court orders on previously applied seizures. At the same time, a freezing order was issued on a bank account in the amount of 500 thousand euros and 143 thousand lei were deposited on the treasury accounts of the Agency.
In the field of corruption prevention, the Legislation Directorate completed and handed over to the authors 17 expert reports and 5 opinions on draft normative acts, last week. Also, 8 forensic expertises were completed, and another 82 expertises are under the management of the specialized department. During the mentioned period, 14 anti-corruption trainings were organized for 790 people. The NAC notifies the initiation of 3 operational analyses, the release of 83 integrity records, the reception of 50 calls to the National Anti-corruption Hotline and the registration of 1,510 materials in the Centre’s Chancellery.
