The employee of a town hall and a driving instructor from the south of the country, detained by the NAC for influencing the issuance of driver's licenses

A driving instructor from Comrat and an employee of a town hall in the Cantemir district were detained for 72 hours by the NAC officers in an influence peddling case. They allegedly demanded and received 900 euros from a woman to help her pass the practical test at the driving license exam.

According to the investigation data, acting in concert, the suspects allegedly claimed that they had influence over the employees of the Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Office in the city of Comrat and that they could induce them to favour the candidate for the practical test in exchange for 900 euros.

As part of the criminal investigation, the transfer of money under the control of the NAC officers was documented, and today searches were carried out at the homes and cars of the suspects to find conclusive evidence for the investigation. Following the searches, the money transferred under the control of the NAC was found.

Actions in this case continue under the procedural leadership of the Cahul district Prosecution Office. We remind, that any person is presumed to be innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision is rendered.
