Six employees of the Botanica Police Inspectorate were detained by the NAC officers in cases of passive and active corruption committed under aggravating circumstances

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre and prosecutors of the Cahul District Prosecutor's Office and the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor's Office, with the support of the Personnel Inspection Directorate of the General Inspectorate, conducted over 30 searches in several locations in Chisinau on the evening of 21.04.2026, including the offices of employees of the Botanica Police Inspectorate. A department head and 5 employees of the Botanica Police Inspectorate were detained and placed in solitary confinement for 72 hours, suspected of passive and active corruption committed under aggravating circumstances.

Specifically, the criminal investigation actions targeted acts of systematically demanding and receiving financial means, in amounts ranging between 3,000 and 10,000 dollars, both in cash and in virtual currency, and the bribes came from persons involved in illicit drug consumption and trafficking.

Following the searches, important documents for criminal cases under the management of the NAC were found, including prohibited objects subject to expertise.
