Japanese Ambassador visits NAC: Moldova and Japan intensify partnership to combat corruption and recover criminal assets
Cooperative relations between the Republic of Moldova and Japan in the field of preventing and combating corruption were discussed during a meeting held at the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), where the director of the institution, Alexandr Pînzari, received the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, Kazuyuki Takeuchi.
During the discussions, the NAC leadership presented the results obtained in combating corruption, as well as the institution's priorities regarding the modernization of investigation mechanisms and the strengthening of operational capacities. Special emphasis was placed on the use of modern technologies in investigative activity, the development of professional expertise and the streamlining of the process of recovering assets derived from crimes.
The parties also analyzed opportunities for expanding international cooperation through exchanges of experience, training programs and technical assistance projects aimed at strengthening mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption.
The Japanese Ambassador appreciated the measures taken by the Moldovan authorities to strengthen the rule of law and highlighted the role of international cooperation in promoting transparency, integrity and good governance.
The meeting emphasizes the effort of the NAC and external partners to develop effective tools to combat corruption and to support the strengthening of state institutions in the Republic of Moldova.
