Two officials from the State Inspectorate for Non-Food Product Surveillance and Consumer Protection under investigation by the NAC and APO in a passive and active corruption case

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), jointly with prosecutors from the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (APO), are conducting searches and other procedural measures in an active and passive corruption case committed under aggravating circumstances. The investigations target two employees of the State Inspectorate for Non-Food Product Surveillance and Consumer Protection (ISSPNPC) and two business entities.

According to the case materials, the Inspectorate officials allegedly claimed and received unlawful funds from economic operators in exchange for not conducting state inspections regarding compliance with commercial rules and operational norms, as well as checks on the quality of industrial products and services rendered. Furthermore, the money was allegedly offered and received to waive penalties for violations detected in the operations of these businesses.

Today, anti-corruption officers searched the residences and offices of the suspects, seizing evidence relevant to the criminal case. The targeted individuals will be investigated while remaining at liberty. Currently, investigations are ongoing to establish all circumstances and identify any potential individuals involved.
