Serghei Carapunarlî was appointed as Deputy Director of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) for the remaining period of the director's term. A draft resolution providing for this was voted by 54 Members of Parliament.

Serghei Carapunarlî began his activity in 1999, within the territorial Financial Guard of the Causeni State Fiscal Inspectorate, and since July 10, 2002, he has held various positions within the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCCEC), later within the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC). Currently, he is the Head of the International Cooperation, Secretariat and Archives Section within the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency of the NAC.

He holds a bachelor's degree in "economic law", "management and economics", a doctorate in economics and a master's degree in "economic engineering and business".

During his activity, Serghei Carapunarlî was decorated with various departmental distinctions, the Diploma of the Government of the Republic of Moldova of the 3rd and 2nd degree, as well as the state distinction - the Order of "Faith to the Honeland", 2nd class.

According to the legislation, the National Anti-corruption Centre is headed by a director, who is assisted by two deputies. They are appointed to office by Parliament, upon the proposal of the director, for the duration of his term of office.
