The level of implementation of the National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy, heard by the Government

The Prime Minister Ion Chicu chaired a meeting of the monitoring group 2 of the 2017-2020 National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy. Attending the meeting were the cabinet members, the heads of the second-level local public administration (APL), the mayors of the Chisinau, Balti and Comrat municipalities, representatives of the business environment and civil society.
The participants in the event unveiled the progress and difficulties recorded in the Strategy’s implementation during 2019, based on the monitoring report worked out by the Secretariat of the monitoring groups within the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA). According to the report, 20 out of the 51 actions planned for 2019 were fully carried out, 23 – partially, 5 are in process of implementation, 2 actions did not qualify and one 1 remains non-implemented.
The monitoring group 2 is in charge of implementing the pillar II (government, public sector and local public administration) and the pillar VII (private sector).
The implementation of the pillar II is aimed at enhancing the integrity, responsibility and transparency of the work of the central public administration APC and APL, as well at reducing corruption’s risks.
The actions provided for in the pillar VII have the goal to promote a competitive business environment, reduce the corruption phenomenon in the system and the risk of money laundering.
The monitoring group 2 has taken the decision to continue the implementation of the action plans for the years 2018-2020, to boost the process of creation of the governmental electronic platform, which would allow citizens monitor online the processing of draft normative acts submitted to the government, as well as to strengthen the activities of training public agents and representatives of the public sector, etc.
Note: The 2017-2020 National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy was adopted on 30 March 2017 and was elaborated with the support of national and international experts, civil society, as well as development partners.
