Assets worth 10 million lei, seized by the CARA in a week
16.02.2021 2751 ViewsThe Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) under the NAC is announcing that it seized assets worth over 10 million lei last week. These are assets of illicit origin that have been preserved within four criminal cases, initiated for embezzlement, fraud and human trafficking.
Thus, during the parallel financial investigations, the CARA seized assets worth over 4 million lei, 2 share capitals worth 5,6 million lei, 4 non-residential constructions, estimated at approximately 5 million lei, 4 bank accounts – 166 thousand lei, a car of 378 thousand lei and 5 agricultural lands worth 250 thousand lei. The total amount of seized assets exceeds 10 million lei.
As well, during last week, the CARA elaborated 8 analytical notes on the profiles of 34 subjects, issued 10 advisory opinions on the estimation of a building and nine firearms. Currently, in the CARA procedure there 77 delegations of prosecutors on 55 criminal cases, regarding 203 persons.
The Criminal Assets Recovery Agency is an autonomous subdivision under the National Anticorruption Center, specialized in conducting parallel financial investigations, seizing criminal assets, assessing, managing and estimating the value of seized criminal assets.
