A sector officer of the Ciocana Police Inspectorate was detained today by the NAC officers and anti-corruption prosecutors in a case of passive corruption. He allegedly extorted 200 euros from a man from Bubuieci not to start against him a criminal case for domestic violence.
According to the materials of the case, the sector officer examined the alleged family violence, committed by a man from Bubuieci. On the bases of the information received, the NAC and anti-corruption prosecutors initiated a criminal case for passive corruption. Last week, under the NAC control, the whistleblower transmitted half of the claimed sum. Today, the Police employee was detained for 72 hours and placed in the NAC Detention Center.
