A border officer and director of a National Army Expert Training Center, detained by the NAC and prosecutors for a bribe of 24 000 lei
19.10.2022 163 ViewsAn employee of Border Police and director of the National Army Expert Training Center in Cantemir were detained by the officers of the General Territorial Directorate South of the NAC and anti-corruption prosecutors, in a case of influence peddling, passive corruption and forgery of public documents. They are suspected of taking a bribe of 24 000 lei to help a man get a driving license.
According to the investigation, the border officer, in compliance with the head of the Cantemir office of the National Army Expert Training Center, allegedly demanded and received from a man 24 000 lei, claiming that he had influence on some employees of the Cantemir office of the Center and Registration of Transport Means and Drivers’s Qualification Office in Cahul, who, in their turn, could influence the successful outcome of the examination, in spite of the fact that he did not attend the trainings and is registered with a narcologist.
Following special investigation actions, the border guard and the head were recognized as suspects and detained for 72 hours.
We remind, that every person is presumed to be innocent until the final and irrevocable decision of the court is pronounced.
