A former policeman, detained for the second time by the NAC in a new case of influence peddling

A former policeman was detained by the NAC and anti-corruption prosecutors, being suspected of committing two episodes of influence peddling, after he was denounced by people he was supposed to help solve some problems at the Ministry of Education and the Public Services Agency.
According to the materials, in the first case, the suspect would have claimed that he would have influence on some officials from the Ministry of Education and that he could induce them to issue a high school diploma without the person attending classes and taking the exams, and, therefore, he allegedly claimed and received 450 euros.
In another episode, the suspect allegedly demanded and received 600 euros from a citizen in exchange for influencing public figures from the Public Services Agency and determining them to issue a category B driver's license in the name of the applicant, without taking theoretical and practical exams.
Today, the man's home was searched, after which he was detained for 72 hours. We note that, previously, a criminal case for influence peddling was initiated in his name, the file being submitted to the court.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
