Two policemen from Ceadîr-Lunga and an intermediary were detained by the NAC and prosecutors in a case of passive corruption

The officers of the General Territorial Directorate South of the NAC and the prosecutors of the Southern Office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office detained 3 people today in a case of passive corruption. It is about two employees of the Ceadîr-Lunga Police Inspectorate and an employee of the local emergency medical assistance service who acted as an intermediary.

According to the case materials, the police allegedly demanded and received 350 euros from a driver for not documenting him for drink driving. The money was transferred under the control of the NAC and the prosecutors, and this morning the officers of the GTD South of the NAC carried out authorized searches in 8 locations, including the headquarters of the Ceadîr-Lunga Police Inspectorate and the homes of the suspects.

Various amounts of money, in foreign currency and national currency, as well as two legally owned weapons were taken from the scene. At the moment, the criminal investigation is ongoing. Three people were detained for 72 hours and are to be placed in the Detention Center.
