A man from Chisinau allegedly asked for 1,500 euros to remove a car with foreign registration numbers from the database of the Customs Service

A man from Chisinau was detained by the officers of the National Anticorruption Center and the prosecutors of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, in an influence peddling case. He was caught red-handed when receiving 500 euros from another man.
According to the whistleblower, the suspect allegedly claimed that he would have influence on the employees of the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova and that he could help him delete from the database the information regarding the crossing of the state border in the direction of entry of the car with registration numbers from Great Britain against a bribe of 1500 euros.
Upon the transmission of the second tranche of 500 euros under the control of the NAC officers, the man was detained and placed in the Detention Center for 72 hours. Following the searches, cash and mobile phones were seized, the contents of which are to be examined for the presence of information relevant to the case.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is conducting the criminal investigation.
