NAC synthesis: CARA issued freezing orders on 35 assets, including cars, bank accounts, flats and plots of land
18.12.2023 424 ViewsThe Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) of the NAC issued freezing orders on 35 assets, last week based on the delegations of prosecutors. These include 4 apartments, 18 agriculture lands, a dwelling and a construction land, 2 means of transport, 9 bank accounts in lei and currency, as follows: 418 000 lei, over 16 000 dollars and about 3 700 euros.
At the same time, seizures of more than 26,000,000 lei, previously applied by the CARA, were confirmed by the conclusion of the investigating judge. At the moment, the Agency has 88 delegations under examination on 58 criminal cases regarding 124 subjects with different procedural status.

Other activities of the NAC, carried out between December 4 and 15:
The General Directorate on Operative Support carried out 14 judicial expertises, 6 of which are IT, and 7 forensic and valuation of a real estate, 50 expertises are in the process. Criminal investigation officers started 3 criminal cases. Currently, the criminal investigation body of the NAC is managing 394 files.
The Legislation and Anticorruption Expertise Directorate received 83 draft normative acts for expertise, sent to the authors 52 expert reports and 43 opinions. Currently, we are working 91 materials, received from the authorities. The Analytical Directorate carried out 11 operational and initiated 21, other 101 studies are in the process. The representatives of the Legal Service of the NAC participated in 46 court hearings, while the Professional Integrity Testing Directorate issued 202 criminal records.
The Anticorruption Education Directorate carried out 9 activities of information and raising awareness. The National Anti-Corruption Line received 81 calls, 2924 materials were registered in the Chancellery of the NAC. A person was placed in the Detention Center, 7 individuals, arrested in the NAC cases, are in Penitentiaries.
