The head of the Association of poultry producers in Moldova is being investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Centre and prosecutors for passive corruption.
According tothe denouncer, the man would have extorted from him MDL 90 000 against the promise to influence decision makers in the Ministry of Agriculture to give on lease land owned by the Practical Scientific Institute of Biotechnology. Lotwas to be distributed at a public auction and, according to the assurances given by the accused, the applicant would be declared the winner.
NAC initiated acriminal case under art. 324 Criminal Code - passive corruption. Thus, under the control of anticorruption officers, the denouncer transmitted the defendant the first installment of MDL 45 000 on April 30. The other MDL 45 000 was “paid” yesterday night. CNA officers caught the accused red-handed while taking the money. The operation took place in the capital, on 68 Bucharest Street.
The man handed the money voluntarily. Currently he is investigated at large, given that he admitted his guilt.
