NAC summary: 27 criminal cases opened, an employee of Forest Administration and a lawyer, investigated for influence peddling

The National Anticorruption Center has reported several activities, carried out last week on the anti-corruption component, as well as other actions from the spectrum of institutional attributions. Thus, the NAC detained an employee of the Forest Administration from Soroca, in a case of influence peddling, who allegedly promised to favor a candidate for obtaining a driver's license by influencing the members of the examination board. At the same time, a lawyer was detained in an influence peddling case, being denounced by another lawyer who allegedly sent her undue financial means to influence a court decision. On Friday, the NAC officers conducted an on-site investigation of a complex of residential blocks, located in the town Codru, Schinoasa Vale str. The actions took place within the framework of some criminal cases, started on excess of duties and forgery of public documents, committed by decision-makers from the Town Hall.
We note that at the moment, one person is detained in the Detention Center, and 10 other people, arrested in the cases started by the NAC, are placed in penitentiaries. During the reference period, criminal investigation officers initiated 27 criminal cases, with a total of 512 files in the process.
Also, the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) under the NAC issued seizure orders, based on the delegations of the General Territorial Directorate South of the NAC, on a residential premises worth 400 thousand lei, in a case of passive corruption. At the same time, by the judge's decision, seizures were confirmed in the amount of over 600 thousand lei. Last week, 200 thousand lei were deposited into the Agency's treasury accounts.
In the field of corruption prevention, the Legislation Directorate completed and handed over to the authors 13 anti-corruption expert reports and 12 opinions on draft normative acts, examined last week. During the mentioned period, 5 anti-corruption trainings were organized for 665 people. Also, 7 forensic expertises were completed. The NAC notifies the initiation of 2 operational analyses, the release of 176 integrity records, the reception of 38 calls to the National Anti-Corruption Hotline and 1437 materials registered in the Center's Chancellery.
